In August of 2012 we began a journey to fulfill the need of providing food for hungry children.  These children had food while at school but later went home with little to no food available for the long week-end. Our friends at Coffman Industries—Keva & Hardy Coffman, allowed us to set up our packing teams in their trucking operations. This allowed us to gather groceries and stock inventory for packing, as we didn’t have a true place to call “home.”  By January of 2013 our list had 326 students from food-insecure homes attending 8 Elementary schools in the Canyon area.

As our list grew to include additional children & more school locations within the geographic boundaries of Canyon ISD, we reached out to our communities with Food Drives and Fundraisers, to help provide for these children in any way that we could.  Eventually, we were gifted our own property at 11805 I-27 behind Choice Media. This was an incredible gift from Brad Tooley and Doug Cowan, partners at that location.  At this point we were packing for over 500 students—and counting.  15 months later , we were again gifted the land to the north of this location, to accommodate our continued growth.  At the ribbon cutting for this new warehouse space,  we had added another 200+ students in the program with numbers continuing to grow. It was at this time we added our Corporate Sponsorship program to offer to our business community.  This alone has been a tremendous fundraiser each and every year since.  It’s been a joy-filled and hard-fought road, but indeed, the BIGGEST blessing, and the greatest JOY our Canyon and South-West Amarillo neighborhoods could ever experience!  Today filling over 6400 bags each month for our 1600+ students in 23 schools—we are grateful for abounding faith in God and to a community that loves their children!
